Description of specimen

Beautiful smallish beatle. It looked like a metallic emerald and we stared at it forever because we had never seen anything like it. It looked like it could have been a piece of jewelry. It was on the edge of our above ground pool. We left it alone and have not seen it since.

Commentary

Thank you for your report! There are a number of iridescent green look-alike beetles in Oregon that are not pests. I am attaching a link to the ODA EAB webpage with some photos of Oregon insects that could be mistaken for EAB
