Description of specimen

Roughly 6-foot-tall plant, with bright green leaves. My apologies, I'm not a gardener, so I cannot provide more details, nor can I supply a photograph, since I don't have that kind of phone. But a friend of mine looked it up after seeing the plant and said it probably was Japanese Knotweed, and that you should be informed immediately.
