Nutria are a common sight and widely established in the Willamette Valley, making control difficult, however exclusion can be effective. There is a lot of good information about nutria in Oregon on the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife's Living With Wildlife site, https://www.dfw.state.or.us/wildlife/living_with/nutria.asp.
There are numerous nutria in the main pond at the Bruce Starker Arts park and in the marshes along the boardwalk at the adjacent sports park. They appeared to be chasing the frogs and eating the vegetation.
