Description of specimen

Small black and yellow/gold beetle approximately 5mm long. two tiny black dots just behind the head on the thorax with a slightly larger black elytral marking. Two larger black elytral markings on the left and right side just above the legs.

Commentary

Thank you for your report! Elm leaf beetle (Xanthogaleruca luteola) is a European species already established in Oregon. They can be managed with an insecticide labeled for this insect, or egg masses can be removed by hand and destroyed.
