Description of specimen

The body of the insect was at least an inch long, longer with the antennae. Light brown in color, and on top of the body there was a black dot on either side. See attached picture.

Commentary

Thank you for your report! Yellow Douglas-fir borer (Centrodera spurca) does not attack living trees. Their grubs live in recently dead Douglas-firs. They are not considered pests.
