Commentary

Dear Douglas,

Thanks so much for reporting kntoweed. I will forward this to the local Early Detection and Rapid Response network for evaluation. knotweed is already (unfortunately) very abundant and the area, and people are doing their best to keep it from getting out of control. Even if this population cant be controlled right away, we are thankful to be able to include this site in our records. Accurate maps are critical to our efforts to manage invasive species! Thanks and I will follow up with you regarding the outcome of this report.

I just heard back from Dave Ambrose at the Clatsop Soil and Water Conservation District. Here is how he will respond to your report. Thanks again for reporting. Would you be interested in a workshop on new invasive species to be looking for on June 19th? Feel free to email me if you are interested. Thanks, Tania
