Description of specimen

About the size of a quarter. When I approached, it reared up. It was seen when I went for a walk at 2pm in the afternoon.

Commentary

That is our native Folding Trap-door spider, Antrodiaetus. There are a few species. They're big, but they're not dangerous to people or pets.
