Description of specimen

Specimen about 1" long. Large body. Double-winged. Top wing is patter of various shades of brown, light brown, gray brown, some black. Under-wing is orange with wide black/dark brown strip near and running the length of the back/outer edge of the wing.
It fell from outer door sill in late morning. Seemed lethargic.

Thank you for your report! Yes, that is the European large yellow underwing. They are well established in the Willamette Valley now.
