Location

I live in a 35 parcel subdivision from the mid-1970's, with the lots ranging from 1-3 acres. I have noticed in this past year that shiny geranium has gone from being largely unnoticed to being on every property in our development. I have 1.3 acres of land on my lot, and I noticed very little shiny geranium last year (I had been pulling Herb Robert for the past 20 years on my parcel), but now have it on about 1/2 to 2/3 of my property, and I see it on every one of the 35 parcels of our subdivision.
I am now calling a number of habitat restoration contractors to learn about cost and availability to help me control this invasive weed. I plan to gather information and discuss the situation with my neighbors.
I have visited the Clackamas County Master Gardener office (I am a member of the MG program), and I have contacted the Clackamas River Basin Council (Eric Butler), Clackamas Soil & Water Conservation District (Justin), and the Tualatin Soil & Water Conservation District (Keith Nasman). My intent is to talk to a series of habitat restoration contractors to develop a plan, and then implement the plan this year and for the next 3 years, hopefully ending with the stopping of the spread of shiny geranium on my property, if not my neighborhood.
