Description of specimen

Hi, this is Jeff Merrill - I work for Metro as a NR Technician in the natural areas program but I live up in the Rhododendron area, which is where I found what may be a patch of false brome.

While walking along the trail I noticed a patch of emerald green grass that had a suspicious look. On closer inspection I observed that the grass had hair running up the stem, onto the leaves and along the leaf margins. I looked around and only located this one patch (consisting of 2 or 3 small clumps and assorted single sprouts) right along the trail. I handpulled these patches since I was fairly confident they were false brome and wasn't sure when I'd get back there. No seed heads were present yet. I took a picture with my phone which I've attached - fairly low quality but it gives a good sense of the form of one of the clumps.

I emailed Russ Plaeger of the SRBWC and David Lebo, USFS botanist out of Zigzag to let them know of the possible finding.
