Description of specimen

We compared the marking to that of a cicada killer hornet and European giant hornet. Colors were bee-like, but the markings on the tail resembled more of the cicada killer.

Commentary

Thank you for your report! I agree that looks like Sphecius. Native and not aggressive. Not a species of concern.
