Longhorn Beetles (Cerambycidae) on Jul 7, 2024

Description of specimen

I found a beetle with long banded antenna. The body is brown. It is not black & white. It's about .75 inches (body) with long banded antenna. It fell out of a Big Leaf Maple. Wanted to make sure it wasn't the invasive banded beetle.

Commentary

Thank you for your report! At that size, this is not ALB, and you describe the difference in color.

Without a photograph it isn't possible to identify the beetle you found. We have many native species of longhorned wood boring beetles in Oregon. A few are pests; most of them live as grubs in dead limbs of trees.
