Description of specimen

It looks like an Asian Hornet . I have attached pictures . The date Saturday July 13 2024 10:28 am.

Commentary

Thank you for your report! That is not a hornet. This insect is a horntailed wood wasp in the genus Tremex. They can't sting: the big "stinger" is for laying eggs in decaying wood, on which their grubs feed.
