Description of specimen

Pastures and roadside full of tansy ragwort to the point if it being unmanageable . Lived here my whole life, 65 years, and it gets worse every year. We have given up on eradication attempts since neighbors are not eradicating theirs.

Commentary

Thank you for your report! My apologies for the long delay in response, the position addressing Yamhill County has had some turnover in the last year.

Unfortunately, tansy ragwort is widespread throughout much of the Willamette Valley though biocontrol efforts have reduced the population of this species considerably. There is currently no funding that I am aware of designated for control of tansy ragwort in Yamhill County by state or local governments though right-of-ways will be treated by the County's Public Works department when conducting roadside vegetation control.

Please see below for additional information on this species, including management strategies.

For future reports, it is very helpful to include a photograph for confirmation.
