Description of specimen

Large, elongated black beetle with white specks. Large thick antennae.

Commentary

Thank you for your report! Without a photo it's not possible to identify the beetle from that description. There are many large native beetles that are not pests, and one frequently seen ALB close look-alike, the white-spotted pine sawyer (Monochamus scutellatus). They are not tree killers.
