Description of specimen

I sent a picture to the OSU extension and they said this was a Banded Ash Borer and asked I report it to you. I first saw these on the log rounds of a fir tree that was recently cut down.

Commentary

Thank you for your report! That's not Banded ash borer, but it is another native longhorned beetle species, Xylotrechus longitarsus (no common name). They are not tree killers.
