Description of specimen

Huge paper nest with giant hornets I think they are black with green stripes almost an inch long. It was dark when i found it but they was very much active and attacking my windows the nest was built in less than 24 hours.

Commentary

Thank you for your report! From your description these are the native Bald-faced hornets -- yes, they can be aggressive. These are much more closely related to yellow jackets than to Northern Giant Hornets. No NGH or other true hornets have been found in Oregon yet. Thank for being on the lookout!
