Description of specimen

Cutting some of this wood up for firewood, I came across two of these beetles and some fur wood. I didn't realize they were infecting fir trees as well.
I definitely identified them as Ash bore Beatles

Commentary

Thank you for your report! EAB attacks ash trees, white fringe trees and olive trees. EAB does not attack fir.

There are a number of iridescent green look-alike beetles in Oregon that are not pests. I am attaching a link to the ODA EAB webpage with some photos of Oregon insects that could be mistaken for EAB

Location

Lane Electric had the trees cut under the powerlines as I am pulling chunks of wood out of there. I found a couple of these beetles and I was surprised to see it. We don't have any ash here. It's all fir and some maple. Territorial highway south of Veneta @3 miles.
