Bald-faced Hornet (Dolichovespula maculata) on Oct 3, 2024

Description of specimen

Looked as large or larger than a queen yellow jacket, but it is very late in the season and the markings are slightly different. Abdomen is very wide and does not have as much color. Head color is more neon yellow. I have also seen one recently outside the living room window running into the pane.
