Ash trees in decline and one fully dead ash snag. D shaped hole photographed (could also be more oval?) galleries

Commentary

Thank you for your report! The holes and galleries in the photos don't look like Emerald ash borer. EAB makes D-shaped holes about 1/8" wide.
