Ash trees in decline and one fully dead ash snag. D shaped hole photographed (could also be more oval?) galleries

Commentary

Thank you for your report! The holes and galleries in the photos don't look like Emerald ash borer. EAB makes D-shaped holes about 1/8" wide. Location

Oak/ash woodland. This is Westlake HOA common property. Oswego Lake Watershed Council has been working on habitat restoration here for 6 years. The ash in this area are in poor condition and frequently lose their tops during ice and wind storms. There is an informal trail best accessed from the sidewalk on kruse way.
