Description of specimen

Down tree that fell in Jan 2024. Tree was still alive while down this summer. When following up, found black stained galleries near the bark. Found insects when peeling back bark.

Two different species of non-mob ambrosia beetles were found. Evidence of root disease and high moisture levels at the site are possible contributors to Oak failure. We will conduct a more thorough examination of Oaks in this area next season when mob signs and symptoms aremore visible.
