please see image. Insect is ~ 1/2" long
Has general size and markings close to a description of a Stink bug.

Commentary

Thank you for your report! Yes, that is a stink bug. Not much detail in your photo but looks like Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (the invasive pest stink bug). They overwinter as adults in sheltered places like houses and become active this time of year.
