Commentary
Thanks for asking. This is a native species of longhorned beetle. You've identified it correctly. Western ash borers breed in dead branches and trunks of ash trees; they aren't tree killers like Emerald ash borer. But the main way that invasive borers get moved around is in raw untreated firewood, so that is the reason for keeping wood local. This wood can be taken to your local municipal green waste drop-off, or it can be disposed of by burning or chipping (I can't tell how large a tree remnant it is).
