Description of specimen

I have included photos. It appears to me to be an Emerald As Borer.. I have the insect in a beaker in the fridge. It is still alive, yet torpid.

Commentary

Thank you for your report! Not EAB, thankfully. This is a related native species, the Golden Buprestid (Buprestis aurulenta). This one is not a tree killer. Their grubs live in dead conifers. EAB is smaller and more slender and flies in the summer.
