Hi, I don’t know if this is the correct place to report this.. but I have found two spiders, approximately three or four months apart, which appeared to be red back spiders.. they are black. They have bright red markings down the center of their back, but not hour glass…. Both times I found them, They were in my wood pile and I moved the wood and they fell off…

Unfortunately, I did not think to get a picture either time.. the spider’s red markings on its back looked very similar to the picture on your website from 2009 ….the body of the spider was maybe 3/8 of an inch.. I did not turn them over to see if they had markings on the abdomen..

I assumed it was a black widow, but doing research today it didn’t look like any of the pictures I saw for black widow.. or even the false black widow..

Should I see them again? I’ll try to get a picture but they do kind of scurry off.😊
