Description of specimen

The top of all the ash trees are dead in my riparian zone along Elk Creek in Elkton. I have occasionally had emerald ash borers flying around in the yard, but I do not have a specimen.

Commentary

Thank you for your report! EAB is not known near your area. Ash trees may show dead tops or limbs for a number of reasons aside from EAB. Look for D-shaped exit holes, bark splits and S-shaped galleries under the bark. Here is the ODF website with current information about EAB in Oregon:
