Description of specimen

About 3 years ago I saw an Emerald Ash Borer inside the MUJI store at 621 SW 5th Ave, Portland, OR 97204. It was on a table inside the building amongst items for sale. It was deep inside the building, not near a door. I just watched Oregon Field Guide episode and i realize what i saw. The insect i saw was very distinctive, definitely and Emerald Ash Borer.

I would guess it was brought inside the building with the items they sale, due its location in the middle of the building.

Commentary

Thank you for your report! There are a number of iridescent green look-alike beetles in Oregon that are not pests. I am attaching a link to the ODF EAB webpage with some photos of other Oregon insects that could be mistaken for EAB

Thanks for being on the lookout!
