Spurge Laurel (Daphne laureola) on Jan 24, 2011

Description of specimen

In the past couple weeks, I've pulled at least a hundred or so plants ranging from mature (3'+) branched plants to single stemmed first year plants all in this area around the state park property. Suspect it is also prevalent in areas around the oak woodlands and christmas tree farm nearby. Have just been piling them on the pruning burn pile but thought it would be good to notify in case this is spreading.

Commentary

Hello!

First of all, a sincere apology for the tardiness of this reply. My e-mail got changed, but not at the Hotline, so didn't get this report util today. I know that Yamhill Soil and Water conservation District has been doing a lot of work with spurge laurel in that area, and that they would be interested in learning of your findings. Please call Tim Stieber, the District Manager, at 503-472-6403 and let's see what can be worked out.

I will also let him know of your report.

Thanks, and again, my apologies for not getting back to you.
