Description of specimen

It appears to be a Citrus Longhorn Beetle based on site identification alone - cannot be sure as we could not capture the physical specimen.

Commentary

Thank you for your report! Yes, there are many native longhorn beetle species that are not pests. This one is the native Banded alder borer, Rosalia funebris. Not a tree killer, they breed in dead branches of maple and red alder. Thanks for being on the lookout!
