Description of specimen

Im not sure if i selected the proper species. I’m pretty sure it was an asiatic garden beetle. I killed it and then later learned it was a pest of concern in Oregon. I grew up in New York and saw them a lot, so I recognized it. I couldn’t find the remains after going back to look.

Commentary

Thank you for your report! Asiatic garden beetle is difficult to distinguish from our native June beetles, even with a specimen in hand. If you see another that you think is this pest species, please collect the specimen or take a photo to upload. Japanese beetle is easily recognized by its shiny green body with copper wing covers.
