Description of specimen

Large Long horned beetle with brown in color with large pinches. See attached photo.

Commentary

Thank you for your report! I agree with your identification. California Prionus beetles are not considered pests: they breed in dead logs and stumps and only sometimes feed on the roots of living trees.
