Somewhat similar to wood boring beetle (Agrilus cyanescens) https://oregoninvasiveshotline.org/reports/detail/2670

Picture insect taken May 19, 2025. Still in car now.
Is it an ash borer beetle or what?

Thank you for your report! Although your photo isn't quite good enough for me to be certain, I think that you have seen the less common blue form of our native Buprestis aurulenta, the Golden Buprestid. They are not pests.
