Insects and Spiders - invasive

Emerald Ash Borer (Agrilus planipennis) on Jul 20, 2025

Submitter does not have a specimen

Description of specimen

The tree in front of our house along the street has some branches that are no longer showing any green growth. It has been suggested to us by two different tree people that it looks like a case of the EAB. We do not know if that is true but I am reaching out to let you know and find out if you do any identification or anything like that. I have included a photo below.

Commentary

Thank you for your report! Urban Forestry visited the tree 08/08/25. Die back in the crown is likely due to age - no evidence of EAB present. Now is a great time to prepare and make a plan for your ash trees. You can learn more about your management options here: https://oregon-eab-geo.hub.arcgis.com/pages/urban-residents

Please reach out again if you see any new signs and symptoms.
