EDRR Status: Ongoing monitoring

Description of specimen

I have seen in firewood gathered on my property the D-Shaped holes in the bark and the passages under the bark. I did see one beetle in 2024, briefly, before it got away. First seen in wood in 2023.

Commentary

Hello Don, Thank you for this report. Do you still have the firewood you saw the exit holes in? Are you able to get us a picture of what you saw?

Hello Don, thanks for providing the picture of the ash trees on your property. Although I cannot be certain from the picture, we do know that there are EAB positive ash trees along the Pudding River. In fact, there is a confirmed positive ash trees less than a half mile from the location you indicated on the map. You can learn about your options by going to OregonEAB.com and looking for "Management" under "Resources". You can also see the location of EAB positive trees on the Oregon EAB Map.
We may want to take a closer look at your ash trees in the future. If we do, we will reach out to the email you provided to get your permission. Thanks again for this report.
