I put it in a jar. Don't know how long till it degrades.

Avatar of commenter Thank you for your report! This is not EAB. This is a native jewel beetle, Western cedar borer (Trachykele blondelii). They are not tree killers. Their grubs feed in dead conifers. Thanks for being on the lookout!

Location

I found it in my vegetable garden while watering. It was already dead.
