Submitter does not have a specimen

Description of specimen

Our property is along the Fanno Creek and the trees along the creek are being choked by ivy. That is not our property and all I know is the area is a preserve for the creek. I am very worried all those trees are dying becasue this year a few didnt make leaves. There are a ton of birds including owls and hawlks in those trees. Can someone help so those trees dont all die? Thank you

Commentary

Hey Adina,

Thanks for reporting this. Unfortunately English Ivy is too widespread for us to respond to. If you have access to the property and permission you could cut the ivy running up the tree. This would slowly kill all the ivy growing in the tree and potentially buy it 10 years before the ivy grows back. Good luck and thanks again for reporting.
