Sparkly green beetle that flys slowly away

Commentary

Thank you for your report! This is a native member of the Metallic Wood-boring beetle family, the Western cedar borer, Trachykele blondeli. These beetles are larger and less slender than EAB. They are not tree killers.

Location

I was walking down NE Karen Ct by a row of arborvitae trees and my head brushed against a limb and there was the beetle, now on my head.
