Thank you for your report! That could be European mantis or it could be Chinese mantis (Tenodera sinensis). Both species were introduced as natural pest control and both are well-established in Oregon. I know that some Eastern states are encouraging people to control populations of introduced mantids, but we have no native mantids here in the Valley with which the exotics would compete.
