Description of specimen

Metallic green beetle with red under body with a elongated symmetrical body with big eyes for its head size . it got smashed in the house by the wife and she said come look at this strange bug i just killed .I will definitely take a picture next time I see one

Thank you for your report! There are a number of iridescent green look-alike beetles in Oregon that are not pests. I am attaching a link to the ODF EAB webpage with some photos of other Oregon insects that could be mistaken for EAB

EAB only attacks ash trees and a few other related trees in the ash family. It does not attack sequoias. Thanks for being on the lookout!
