We have a tree on our property that is suffering from symptoms like those described in your article in the News-Times

Commentary

Thank you for your report! This looks like a cherry tree. EAB only attacks ash trees and some related trees in the ash family. The twig dieback on this tree looks like a fungal infection (brown rot?), not an insect problem. Consult the PNW pest management handbook for treatment options.
