Commentary

Dear Autumn and all of the South Albany High School AP Bio Class,
Thanks so much for your outstanding work finding and controlling a small population of false brome on the Simpson trail in Albany. Your "Early Detection - Rapid Response" actions controlling false brome probably helped prevent a widespread, unmanageable population of false brome at the park. Great work! I will forward this report to the City of Albany's park staff and to the Calapooia watershed council so they can be aware of your work and continue to be monitoring for false brome at the park. I hope you will continue to look for and report invasive species like false brome, garlic mustard, yellow flag iris, and giant hogweed over the summer and into the future. Thanks again!

Sincerely,
Tania
