Yellow-flag Iris

Commentary

Thanks for your report, Mike.

Significant populations of yellow-flag iris are known in the Willamette valley and elsewhere in Oregon. It's been in Benton County since the 1970's and herbarium records show it noted near Coffin Butte in 2004. Unfortunately, this is a difficult plant to control once it's become widespread, though small patches can be removed by digging.

If you would like more information on this species, you can find it on the species profile page of the Western Invasives Network (http://www.westerninvasivesnetwork.org/pages/viewplant.php?id=43).

Thanks again for your report!
