Land Plants - invasive

Knotweed (unknown species) (Fallopia sp.) on Sep 22, 2011

Description of specimen

Plants are growing below the bridge along the river bank. The plant cluster extended ~50' up and ~50' down stream, but I'm uncertain if it went much further. There are trails that lead down there probably for fishing and swimming. We sample from the shore because the bridge has become unsafe for us to sample over the railing.

Dear Gregory,

Thanks you for reporting knotweed to the Oregon Invasives Hotline. I have forwarded your report to the Coos Watershed Association and the Coos County Weed Board. It is very important to have accurate distribution information in order to strategically manage invasive species. So, your report is very valuable! I'll let you know how CoosWA and the weed board respond. It may be the patch could be included in a future treatment plan. Thanks again and I'll be in touch.

Sincerely, Tania
