Insects and Spiders - invasive

Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (Halyomorpha halys) on Nov 8, 2011

Submitter has sample

Description of specimen

I believe it to be a brown marmerated stink bug. This specimen was brought to me by one of my employees who recently attented a pest control training which covered invasive species. He identified it at his home in Hillsboro on a mago plant he has on his porch.

Commentary

Thanks, Isaak, brown marmorated stink bugs are now established in the Portland metropolitan area. I've forwarded your photos on to entomologists at the Oregon Department of Agriculture for confirmation, and will let you know asap.
