Description of specimen

The plant is Cyclamen hederifolium. Come and see for yourself. I decided to submit this report when I found that a near neighbor, down on Agate Street in Eugene, was about to plant a box full of corms that a friend had given her. It also is a problem in a forest of a friend who lives near the Laurelwood golf course. You will find that it has invaded in Atlantic Europe from the Mediterranean:

Commentary

Dear Dr. Staton Cook,

Thanks so much for reporting the invasive behavior of Cyclamen hederifolium. Gardeners and plant enthusiasts can really help prevent the next big plant invasion by raising awareness about what they see taking over gardens. THANK YOU! It sounds like Cyclamen hederifolium is an important plant to keep an eye on and prevent from escaping into natural areas. I will share your report with natural resource managers so they can be on the look out. It is possible this species has already invaded. Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Take care,
Tania
