Large web like cocoons appearing in trees and bushes

Commentary

Looks like fall webworm. See link below for more info. It is a native insect, doesn't cause long-term damage. Gypsy moth larvae do not make webbing.

I noticed a neighbor's tree was filling with what look like tent caterpillar nests and they are starting to appear in other yards as well. Someone else said they might be gypsy moths. I do not know.
