Nice find. Beautiful insect. This is a native Golden buprestid, Buprestis aurulenta. It feeds on dead and dying Douglas-fir, ponderosa pine and other conifers. It can take decades to mature in dry wood. Generally not considered a pest since it doesn't kill live trees. It can cause structural damage to timbers in construction. This is a very common insect.
