Description of specimen

Two bushes of gorse with spiny branches and trifoliate leaves with thin spine-like leaves.

Commentary

Yes, this is gorse. Gorse is a common weed along the coast from Reedsport to Brookings. It is a class B weed according to Oregon Department of Agriculture noxious weed laws. State law does not require control of class B weeds, but class B weeds are prohibited from being sold, purchased or transported.
