Submitter does not have a specimen

Description of specimen

There are multiple small populations and one large area of gorse on the hillside.

Commentary

This is not gorse. It is either Scotch broom or French broom. Scotch broom has 5 ridges on stems while French broom stems have 8 or 10 ridges. French broom seed pods are hairy all over while Scotch broom seed pods only have hairs near the base or along the edge. Thank you for your report.
