Description of specimen

We saw this shimmery green beetle type insect with an iridescent, hard green shell and long, thin body. This was seen on May 24, and we saw an article this morning on emerald ash borers and decided to report this as a potential sighting.

Location

I saw this insect that I believe could be an emerald ash borer sitting on a car in a friend's driveway. The road is a quiet residential neighborhood that runs perpendicular to I-5, with lots of trees and flowers in people's yards. There is a field behind the neighborhood. We saw the bug, had no idea what it was, took a picture, and it left before we could capture it.
